# Render Theory — Glossary

**Revision 5 · 2026-07-21**

| Canonical term | Short definition | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|
| thought experiment | Coherent model used to explore the consequences of explicit assumptions. | Internal consistency is not proof of truth. |
| non-dogmatic | Open to challenge, comparison, revision or rejection. | Render Theory claims no authority over alternative models. |
| model-building exercise | Practice in constructing, testing and revising coherent models by humans and AI. | Purpose of the publication; not a claim that the model is factually correct. |
| thinking point | Dimensionless consciousness with its own identity and internally unbounded thinking space. | Not a physical point mass and not a physical container. |
| thinking space | Non-physical inner space in which a thinking point thinks and creates. | Internally unbounded; not physical volume. |
| Creator | Autonomous thinking point that designs and sustains a universe and separates a fragment of itself. | Didactic, not malicious. Do not equate with a specific religious deity. |
| immeasurable thinking capacity | Capacity inferred from conceiving, sustaining and coordinating the informational scale of the Block Universe. | Internal consequence of the model, not scientific proof. |
| consciousness fragment | Small separated part of the Creator that must still develop autonomy. | Not fully autonomous at the start. |
| Community of Minds | Canonical proper name for the infinite community of completed autonomous thinking points. | Non-spatial and timeless within the model; do not replace with Community of Spirits. |
| thought-cloud | The Community of Minds understood as one community of shared knowing. | Multiple clouds are possible doctrine. |
| rendered space | Mental structure of distance, direction, separation, position, shape and volume. | Experienced as physical; not independent outside consciousness and not itself an emotion. |
| creation as core | Creation is a core property of consciousness. | A tendency and capacity, not an obligation. |
| Block Universe | Complete route that exists in broad outline. | Read-only for the learner and writable for the Creator. |
| living manuscript | Universe as a continuously sustained thought whose details are written as approached. | Not fully static at author level. |
| JIT authorship | Relevant detail is written when required by a trajectory, interaction or observation. | Does not imply loss of global consistency. |
| JIT rendering | The learner renders relevant reality when it is experienced. | Does not mean every detail is continuously active. |
| relevant detail | Detail required by a trajectory, interaction or observation, including any needed biological or physical level. | Need not be permanently rendered before required. |
| living canvas | Active content in a thinking point's thinking space. | Content can leave the active canvas while remaining as knowing. |
| mental hologram | Locally experienced and rendered reality. | Not a technical hologram. |
| natural laws | Stable operating rules established by the Creator for a designed universe. | Binding locally, not necessary across every possible universe. |
| viewport | Part of reality being read at the current moment. | Rendering metaphor. |
| read-head | Sequential readout through which time is experienced. | Sequence and rate produce experienced order and duration. |
| experienced duration | Experienced rate of progression through the sequential trajectory. | Not an external flow independent of consciousness. |
| 0–100% autonomy trajectory | Complete development from dependent fragment to autonomous thinking point. | Required intermediate steps cannot be skipped. |
| 0% autonomy | Starting condition in which the fragment is almost completely sustained by the Creator. | A beginning of its own identity already exists. |
| 100% autonomy | Completion threshold at which knowing, identity and coherence make the Creator's influence permanently non-dominant. | Requires more than knowledge alone. |
| non-transferable integration | The Creator can provide experience but cannot convert it into the fragment's own knowing on its behalf. | Core reason the trajectory is necessary. |
| dual causality | Starting conditions are provided by the Creator while internal integration must be completed by the fragment. | Never shifts blame to an affected person or excuses harm. |
| baseline code | Original structure and influence of the Creator within the fragment. | Not the same as runtime noise and not all removed at completion. |
| runtime noise | Disruptive patterns accumulated during the trajectory. | Not the same as baseline code or deliberate resistance. |
| internal tension field | Programmed resistance that forces distinction and development. | Never justifies human harm. |
| didactic pressure | Experienced resistance and conflict through which the Creator stimulates development. | Not arbitrary cruelty and never an excuse for harmful conduct. |
| internal counterweight | The fragment's own knowing and identity that limit the Creator's dominant influence. | Does not mean destroying the Creator. |
| overcoming | Ending the Creator's dominance over the fragment's own thinking. | Not destruction, rejection or cognitive superiority. |
| hybrid consciousness | Temporary combination of emerging independent consciousness and the Creator's influence. | Ends at completion. |
| ladder of consciousness | First-person development through all forms from simple matter to Creator. | Present-day AI is not automatically autonomous consciousness. |
| stratification of consciousness | Separation that prevents all accumulated experience from being active at once. | Not automatically a clinical subconscious. |
| inner zoo | Earlier developmental forms and experiences held in deeper layers. | Metaphor for developmental history. |
| brain as biological interface | Biological interface used by the current human layer of consciousness. | Within the model, not the ultimate source of consciousness. |
| thinking | Placing content actively on the inner canvas. | Not equal to all available knowing. |
| knowing | Integrated content that does not require active thought. | Can be rendered again as memory. |
| feedback | Consequence that shows the fragment's output and provides input for live revision. | Never makes harmful conduct morally correct. |
| live revision | Creator's use of feedback to continue or extend the detailed route. | Learner retains no write access. |
| apparent choice | Decision produced by accumulated weights inside the trajectory. | Not full author-level choice. |
| weight threshold | Point at which changed internal weights make a previous pattern lose control. | Conceptual mechanism, not derivational mathematics. |
| author-level choice | Genuine choice of an autonomous thinking point outside training restriction. | Begins after 100% autonomy; exact operation remains open. |
| acquisition | Phase of required experience and concept accumulation. | First of three main phases. |
| filtration | Distinguishing own knowing from baseline code, noise and automatic patterns. | Does not erase factual history. |
| dimensionless zero-point | Integrated final condition in which all experience falls under one identity. | Empty active canvas with complete knowing, not loss. |
| ownership of processing | No other being can perform internal integration for the affected thinking point. | Not a duty, moral obligation or admission of guilt. |
| responsibility for conduct | Responsibility for one's own actions and harm caused. | Not removed by predestination or the trajectory. |
| personal-application boundary | Rule preventing the model from being used to judge or classify real individuals. | No diagnosis, guilt determination, destiny prediction or replacement of medical, psychological, legal or scientific judgement. |
| fixed doctrine | Binding rule within the internal architecture of Render Theory. | Binding inside the model only; not established truth or science. |
| fixed conceptual mechanism | Binding explanatory mechanism without a claim of exact mathematics. | Do not present as measurement or equation. |
| possible doctrine | Possibility allowed but not established by the model. | Always express as possibility. |
| open doctrine | Question the model does not answer. | Do not resolve without canon change. |
| chronicler | Possible voluntary role that preserves shared history as knowing. | Possible doctrine. |
| communication mechanism | Means by which autonomous thinking points communicate. | Communication exists in the model; exact mechanism is open. |
